A South Bay resident for over twelve years, DeAnn was recently recognized by the Manhattan Beach City Council as the “Person of the Month” for her charitable contributions to the community and her support of local small businesses. DeAnn also serves on the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and actively participates in its Women in Business and Young Professionals groups.

DeAnn is presently serving as the president of the Manhattan Beach Kiwanis Club and is proud to serve as General Counsel for the Crown Jewel Club, a non-profit headquartered in El Segundo, which is dedicated to educating at-risk girls in life skills. She is also an expert legal coach for the National Association of Entrepreneurial Moms.

Prior to opening her own practice, DeAnn defended individuals and businesses of all sizes, primarily in strongly-contested, litigated matters throughout the State for more than ten years.  In 2003, she handled the defense of her client, Hill Brothers Chemical Company, against a wrongful death action as a private motor carrier of property. Her successful appeal was hailed by the National Private Truck Council as “one of the most important legal decisions involving the private truck industry in thirty years.” This case continues to be the law of the State of California and has been followed in other states.

She earned her Juris Doctorate in 1996 from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California and her B.A. in Rhetoric in 1993 from the University of California at Berkeley.

DeAnn resides in Manhattan Beach, California with her husband and their two young children.
